The area where our DeVane
ancestors settled is still very rural. Depending on how many of the
reunion activities you plan to participate in, this may help you decide where
you prefer to stay. If you are attending all of the weekend activities
Wallace is the most central location. If you are attending the Saturday
Reunion at Moore's Creek only, you may prefer to stay in or near the Wilmington
area. The Moore's Creek National Battlefield is about 20 miles northwest
of Wilmington. It is 4 miles west of US 421, on SR 210, near the town of
Currie. Check a good road map to see the area that works
best with your plans.
