  7:00 until - At Clear Run for old timey pickin' and
      singin' -
a monthly event to which we're all    
      invited in October!
   
  26 October   11:00-12:00 - At Haw Bluff Baptist Church and 
          Black River Presbyterian Church
          Morning worship at the home church of many
      local DeVanes.  Note the stained glass windows
      dedicated to family members; stroll through
      the graveyard in back to visit with cousins
      who have passed on.
   J   For those who wish, a final meal together
       at a local country buffet restaurant.
    J  Hug and say good-bye till next time.
   

 

Event Speakers
 

US National Park Service Park Ranger Tim Boyd will be speaking after
lunch (Sat, 25 Oct) on the history of the Moores Creek Battleground and
the contributions of the DeVanes to that battle and to the community at
the time of the Revolution.  He will be dressed in the clothes of the time
and might just have a musket slung over his shoulder.
